About

In conjunction with the Victorian Golf Association (VGA)  each year, WGV conducts a statewide golf event as part of a long standing relationship with the Foundation for Young Australians (FYA).

Two thirds of the proceeds from this event will go back to benefit golf via the Victorian Golf Foundation. The remaining one third goes to the Foundation for Young Australians.

Each Victorian club plays their own tournament in which a male and female winner is determined. Each person participating in the club event is asked to pay $2.20.

The winning male and female entrant at each country club will be eligible to play in the district final, with District winners proceeding to the State Final. For 2008, metropolitan club qualifiers will proceed directly to the State Final.

This event was first played in 1978, named the Silver Jubilee Event and changed to the Queen Elizabeth II Trophy 1979. From 2000 the event became the Foundation for Young Australians Trophy.
