Amazing Turn Out for Autumn Tournament
This year the 2010 Victorian Autumn Country Tournament was held on Tuesday 18th and Wednesday 19th May at the water-side golf club that is Flinders. The tournament boasted a field of over 130 competitors from across the state, with some players coming down from across the border.
A starting time of 7.30am saw the players off and amidst a cool sea breeze the players brought their golfing skills to the forefront. Whilst the course provided a number of challenges and a number of players found themselves amongst the sand, the field moved along at a strong pace. It wasn't long before results started coming in to the club house and whilst the last few groups found themselves hitting in limited light, the day finished with smiles all round.
The Tuesday night dinner hosted by Flinders GC allowed the players to mingle amongst each other and reminisce on the positives and negatives of the day's game. With the draw flipped for the Wednesday field, the late starters in round one found themselves teeing off in the early light. Once more players showed off their golfing talents and the weather remained cooperative with only a mild sea breeze to challenge the individual golfer.
Please see below for the results of each day and congratulation to all players who made the effort to come down to Flinders GC.
